Adult Formation: This week in Adult Formation, in “What Vibrant Congregations Do” the group answered the question, “If you spiritual life were a wire, and you could bend the wire to illustrate it, what would that wire look like?” Our lesson this week discussed the role in faith communities to “bend that wire.” Please join us for the remaining 3 sessions, even if you’ve missed the first one. The video is only about 6 minutes so we are happy to show it again prior to the start of this week’s session.
Lent Madness: This week in Lent Madness: Clearly, Henry Beard Delany’s upset victory over Aelred messed up a lot of brackets in this parish! Only two people correctly picked that one.
As of 3/12, Sue Granger’s dogs have taken a commanding lead with 7 correct! On their tails (so to speak) are Sue Granger and Krista Baker. Sally West, Julie Seidler, Maria Evans, Julia DeLancey’s cats, and Maria’s dogs are all tied with 4 correct each. Julia (three correct) and Ian Lindevald (two correct) are bringing up the rear.
Yet… as you know, there are many first round matches left and a reversal of fortune can happen at any time! The fun never stops in Lent Madness! Don’t forget to go to www.lentmadness.org Monday–Saturday to vote for your favorites and learn about the saints!
Food Depot:
Our Food Depot items for March: Canned vegetables.
The following are distribution statistics from the Pantry for Adair County on March 15:
Episcopal News Service Tidbits: This week, Episcopal News Service stories include stories on the Presiding Bishop’s visit to the Diocese of Taiwan, the launch of a fundraising campaign to support Episcopal Migration Ministries, and grants approved by the Executive Council to support twenty new ministries.
Google Communication Problems: As you know, we have been working for the last couple of weeks to solve a problem with the distribution of the WHAT. We are no longer able to send mass emails to our mailing list that contain URLs (the web address that takes you directly to the WHAT or prayers). Some of the early alternatives we are exploring have drawbacks. For now, we recommend you bookmark the WHAT on your favorite web browser. We will continue to send reminder emails that do not contain the URL until we can settle on a permanent solution. And, in case you were wondering how the WHAT is made each week…the picture at the right shows how it really happens.
