Amy’s Office Hours:  Amy will hold weekly “office” hours on Mondays from 10 am – 12 pm at Trinity, Tuesdays from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm  at Sweet Expressions Coffee Shop and Wedensdays from 2 pm – 4 pm at Truman, either at Jazzman’s or in the Hub. You do not need an appointment for any of these times, just drop by. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call or text her at 815-901-3614.

Spiritual Formation:  Feeling overwhelmed? by all that is going on in the world? Not sure what the “Christian” response is? You are not alone. Trinity will offer “Faithful Dissent: Loving Our Way into a Brighter Tomorrow with Ed Bacon and Stanley Hauerwas”, a ChurchNext video and discussion program on Sunday September 24th at 12 pm at Trinity. The course is about 45 minutes long, and you can drop in or out as needed.

Liturgy at the Lake / Pet Blessing:  Save the Date!  – October 1, Liturgy at the Lake (10 a.m.), Blessing of the Animals (11 a.m.), and potluck lunch!  Please invite your friends for any portion of this activity.  For example, if someone did not want to come to the service but did want an animal blessed, invite that friend to come around 11 a.m.  Potluck signup will be available this Sunday.

Sharing Your Time and Talent:  Krista Baker will be resigning her position as Clerk/Treasurer for Trinity as of October 31, 2017.  Krista has served faithfully and well – and deserves to follow her heart into her next adventure!  She has promised to help train the volunteer(s) who will take her place. If you feel a tug to serve as either clerk or treasurer, please contact Diane Johnson.  You do not have to be a member of the Bishop’s Committee to serve in this position but you would have to be available for most Bishop’s Committee meetings (usually the second Sunday of each month after coffee hour).

More Service Opportunities:  Please be thinking of the elections we will have at the annual meeting at the end of January.  We will be looking for two members of the Bishop’s Committee (terms end for Natalie Alexander and Howard Hickman) as well as a delegate to the Diocesan Convention and two alternates for that position.

Little Food Pantry: Donations are needed.  Nonperishables, hygiene products, fresh produce that can withstand summer heat.  Please do not bring bread at this time – water condenses in the bread bag and mold follows.  Fall weather will be better for that.

Food Depot:  Our Food Depot items for September: Sauces and Condiments!!  Pasta sauce, gravy, Ketchup, etc.

Lectionary Readings:

Genesis 50:15-21
Psalm 103:(1-7), 8-13
Romans 14:1-12
Matthew 18:21-35
