Food 4 Kids (July 30-August 3):  Thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far.  We still need one for Monday, July 30.

LaDonna Taylor birthday/farewell party:  Many thanks to all who took the time to attend and bring goodies for LaDonna’s 80th birthday party on July 19.  Over 35 people came to share memories, congratulations, and best wishes.  LaDonna left this week to relocate to Hamilton, Montana, to be closer to her sons.

Outreach – Missouri Mission of Mercy (MOMOM):  offers free dental work August 3 and 4 at Pershing Gym on the Truman campus.  We applaud all the volunteers who make this event happen – and do remind anyone you know who may need no-cost dental work that this option is available.

Plate Offering – Sunday, August 19: will be for Episcopal Migration Ministries.  During the current migration crisis, EMM is partnering with the Refugee Services of Texas/Austin (Diocese of Austin) and Refugee Focus (Diocese of Arizona) as well as others.  Please be generous.  Of the millions of displaced and refugee people in the world, a staggering 11.25 million are children.

Kickoff Weekend is Coming Up: not football, but campus and outreach ministries!  On Friday, Aug. 24, we will gather at the courthouse to share a potluck picnic at 6 p.m. prior to enjoying the Deadwood Summer on the Square concert at 7 p.m.  Bring a friend (and a chair).  On Saturday, Aug. 25, we will have a booth at the second annual Community Roots Festival on the square.  And on Sunday, Aug. 26, we’ll have a special service and coffee hour to commission our musicians and welcome our students, faculty, and staff.

Community Roots Festival:  Trinity will have a non-profit informational booth at this festival on August 25.  Our focus will be music – making simple musical instruments, sharing copies of current songs we have permission to share, etc.  If you’d like to help staff the booth, contact Diane Johnson or Amy Fallon.

Process for Calling New Bishop:  The Diocese of Missouri is beginning the process of calling a new bishop. Bishop Smith has announced his intention to retire in 2020. The Diocese will elect a new bishop at Diocesan Convention in 2019, ad we expect to consecrate a new bishop in the spring of 2020. You can learn more about details about the process at https://www.diocesemo.org/bishop-search

Second Saturdays Yoga:  Second Saturday Yoga is on vacation until September.

Food Depot:  Our Food Depot items for August – Cereal

Garden overflowing?  Consider bringing extra produce to the Little Free Food Pantry!  The wire basket underneath the pantry is perfect for cucumbers, tomatoes, and other good stuff.  And it’s usually gone within a few hours.
