Amy’s Office Hours:  Amy will hold weekly “office” hours on Mondays from 10 am – 12 pm at Trinity, Tuesdays from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm  at Sweet Espressions Coffee Shop and Wedensdays from 2 pm – 4 pm at Truman, either at Jazzman’s or in the Hub. You do not need an appointment for any of these times, just drop by. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call or text her at 815-901-3614.

Fall Cleanup:  This Saturday, Oct. 29, beginning at 9 a.m.  Stop by the kitchen first for a hot cup of coffee or tea and a muffin or donut.  We will need lots of energy to tackle our cleaning tasks!  If you are not able to come on Saturday but would like to complete a cleanup task by Nov. 4, please contact Ian Lindevald.

Children’s Table:  This Sunday, Oct. 29, you’ll notice a colorful table at the back of the undercroft for use during coffee hour.  Children of all ages are welcome to color and learn more about the Bible passages we will hear.  You are welcome to take home extra coloring sheets and materials for use with young people at home.

Volunteer Recorder Needed:  On Sunday, Nov. 12, the Bishop’s Committee needs a volunteer willing to transcribe notes of their meeting.  An outline of main points will be provided.  If you choose to use your laptop to do this, an electronic outline will be provided.  We don’t need word-for-word transcription, just the high points. The meetings usually begin around 12 noon and last no longer than two hours. Please contact Diane Johnson if you can do this.

Stewardship Campaign Continues:  You should receive a second letter with a pledge card this week.  Please plan to return it on or before Nov. 5, our 100thanniversary celebration. We hope to begin our second century with a strong base of individual, family, and Diocesan support!

Altar Guild:  Altar Guild is looking for new members. The Altar Guild is responsible for getting the altar ready for each service which includes changing the paraments if needed, getting the communion service ready, making sure there are flowers of some kind, straightening the pews and hymnals, vacuuming, putting everything away after the service, and other assorted tasks needed each Sunday. Extra duties occasionally include special services like those around Easter, and weddings and funerals if communion is being served. This is a necessary and rewarding ministry that takes about 45 minutes to an hour approximately once a month. Anyone interested (male or female!) can contact Amy or Wynne Wilbur martinewilbur@gmail.com.

Little Food Pantry:  We have been given a large box of taco seasoning mixes for the Little Free Food Pantry.  Do you have a simple, tasty recipe that uses (or could use) such a mix?  We would like to include your recipe (and possibly some other ingredients) in “kits” for LFFP users.  See Diane if you are willing to share a recipe!

Food Depot:  Our Food Depot items for October: Canned Fruit/Applesauce.

Lectionary Readings:

Leviticus 19:1-2,15-18
Psalm 1
1 Thessalonians 2:1-8
Matthew 22:34-46
