Once you sign up, each day from Dec 3 – Dec 25, you will receive a word, an image and a brief meditation about the word. You are then invited to share your own thoughts on the word, either in prose or with an image of your own.

You can receive your daily meditation by signing up at www.adventword.org/signup. You can receive the meditation via e-mail, and will be also given options to receive your meditation via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. For those of you who don’t want to use technology, here is a list of all the words for the season.  We will have an Advent Table at coffee hour for people who want to discuss their AdventWord expereince face to face.

Almighty God, the foundation of all wisdom: During this time of exams, enlighten your Holy Spirit those who teach and those who learn, that they may wisely demonstrate what they have learned this semester, and that they may use ithat knowledge to serve you all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Seeking a Spiritual Practice for Advent?  Remember that Morning Prayer is a great way to start your day – we meet at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday and finish the service well before 8.  The service features prayers, a psalm, a reading and is part of the Daily Office, that is, the cycle of prayers that includes morning prayer, noonday prayer, evening prayer, and compline.

You lose nothing and Trinity gains a lot.
