Coffee Hour Coordinator: (followup to last week’s announcement). As many of you know, it’s possible to get locked in to ways of doing things and I feel I certainly have done that over the past 15 years as the informal coordinator of coffee hour. If you have a gift for hospitality, please inquire about this ministry. It doesn’t have to be done the way I’ve always done it. In fact, you might have some ideas that would be even better. Also, this might be the kind of ministry that could be done by two people better than by one, so if two are half-thinking about it, now’s the time to partner up.Special thanks to Gene Croarkin who went above and beyond with last week’s coffee hour! After his wife Karen became ill, Gene discarded the food she had prepared and brought us sumptuous repast from HyVee. He prepped, served, and cleaned up – an all around coffee hour award is certainly deserved in this case! Thanks, Gene.
Parish Register: Historically parish registers have been a norm in Episcopal churches. In recent times we have not maintained this information here at Trinity. As part of working with the old files and parish records, we are recognizing the value this provides. It also helps a great deal when we are asked how many people are on our register. Each year we provide this information to the Episcopal Church. We would like to be as correct as possible. To this end we are starting an effort to create a current parish register. Please take a few minutes to complete your entry in the folder in the undercroft. Thank you!
Bishop’s Visit Rescheduled: Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, the Bishop will not be able to make his visitation to Kirksville in April. It will likely be early in 2018 when another visit will be scheduled. On Saturday, May 13th there is a confirmation/reception service at the Cathedral. If you would like to be confirmed or received, please speak to Carrol, and she will make arrangements for you to be part of that service.
Lent Madness: It’s that time of year again–not only for Lent but for Lent Madness! Which saint do you think will win the Golden Halo? Download your bracket here or pick one up downstairs at church. Cost is same as last year, $5 per entry. Turn in your completed brackets either downstairs in the undercroft or scan/take a photo of them and email them to Maria. Also please welcome Julie Seidler, who is coming on as the newest member of the Supreme Executive Committee to join Julia and Maria as she learns how to do Maria’s task of managing Lent Madness. (As you might also remember, Julie is also last year’s Golden Halo winner at Trinity.) Who will be this year’s proud owner of Trinity’s own Golden Halo?
Our Food Depot items for February: Peanut Butter & Jelly; Cereal (regular size cereal boxes only, please)
Have an Old iPhone?: Do you have an old iPhone 4 or 5 that is gathering dust, or shoved in a drawer, because you bought an iPhone 6 or 7? If so, drop it off to Maria Evans. She would like to convert it to a listening device for the hearing-impaired to make available at church.
