What to Expect From Holy Week Services: We begin Holy Week on Sunday. If the weather allows we will begin outside with The Liturgy of the Palms. Palm Sunday is the only Sunday in the church year when we hear 2 gospel readings. The first reading recounts the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The second gospel reading is the Passion Gospel. For several years, we have read the Passion Gospel in parts and have let that stand as the homily. On Sunday the appointed lector will read the Passion (This Sunday and Good Friday are the 2 times during the year when our prayer book rubrics allow for lay persons to read the gospel), and then we will hear a brief homily on the gospel.Easter Flowers: Easter is a meaningful time to give flowers in memory of or in thanksgiving for a loved one. If you would like to donate toward Easter flowers, designate “Easter flowers” on the memo line of your check (or place cash in a labeled envelop) and put it in the offering plate. Your memorial or thanksgiving wording for the bulletin should be given to Jessie, Wynne, or Talie.
Communion with Lola Lampe: Communion with Lola Lampe – Parishioners will gather this Sunday at 1 p.m. at the church to carpool to Lola Lampe’s residence southeast of Kirksville. Lola and Vince Lampe were faithful Trinity members for many years, serving as representatives of the church in Kirksville Interchurch Ministry, taking our food donations to the Christian Community Food Depot every week, and giving us an initial push to get started on the accessibility project with gifts from the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. If you haven’t yet met Lola, you are in for a treat. If it’s been a while since you’ve been able to tell her how much we appreciate her, this is your chance. Hope you will join us Sunday for a brief communion visit.
Little Free Food Pantry: Thanks to the work of Cybil Wriedt and the Henness family, the Little Free Food Pantry is a reality! The pantry has been living in the undercroft for the past few weeks. Saturday it was installed at the base of the Harrison Street entrance to the church. Anyone can place nonperishable food items and personal care items in it, and people can take what they need. The Little Free Food Pantry takes its inspiration from the Little Free Library concept. For more information, see http://www.npr.org/sections/
Lent Madness: Well, well, well, there have been some interesting reversals of fortune as we now reach the phase of the competition where we start looking at “Who’s still in this?” instead of “What’s everyone’s scores?

Asset Mapping: Last Sunday, folks at coffee hour generated quite a sizable list of Trinity’s physical assets and institutional assets (and used quite a few post-it notes!) If you weren’t at church Sunday, and you’d like to submit your list of what you believe Trinity’s physical assets include (i.e. the physical things/structures/items that are an asset to us as a faith community) and Trinity’s institutional assets (the things directly associated with us as a church institution within a denomination), please email them to Maria Evans, and she’ll include them on the list. We want everyone to have an opportunity to participate!
